The High Tech Research and Development Center (Administrative Center for Basic Research) of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced China’s Top 10 scientific advances of 2019. The architecture of a hybrid-paradigm Tianjic chip towards AGI, developed by a team led by Professor Shi Luping from the Center for Brain-Inspired Computing Research of Tsinghua University, was achieved the great share of the votes.
“Hybrid-paradigm Tianjic Chip towards Artificial General Intelligence” by Shi Luping—professor of the Department of Precision Instrument at Tsinghua University—and his team was selected as one of the top ten scientific and technological advancements in China in 2019.
This chip is the world’s first hybrid-paradigm chip for brain-inspired computing to facilitate the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI). On the research results, the paper “Towards artificial general intelligence with hybrid Tianjic chip architecture” was published as a cover article in the 1st August edition of the journal “Nature”.
